Provision of:

  • temporary, secure refuge accommodation for women and their children who have left their homes due to domestic abuse. We want you to feel safe in the refuge in a homely environment. You will share the house with up to two other families. You will have your own bedroom
  • 24 hour CCTV and on call staff around the clock
  • emotional and practical support to women within the refuge
  • advice and information to BME women suffering from domestic abuse
  • a confidential service
  • key worker system and service user led support planning
  • 24 hour emergency on call telephone support to women in the refuge
  • advocacy
  • access to community projects
  • support to women whether they decide to return to their partner with appropriate safety planning with consultation with other agencies or settle independently
  • professional and friendly staff, proficient in Urdu, Punjabi, Gujarati and English
  • outreach support to women and their children who have left the refuge

Humraaz does not have the resources to accept women where the following circumstances apply:


Drug or alcohol dependency

In need of high level support due to mental health issues

With a history of violence, arson and/or other serious offences.
